Last weekend I experienced my first wet weather wedding – the wedding of Jacqui and Michael (their engagement shoot here). Jacqui is also the sister of Scott whom I did his wedding in November last year (click here) Did the weather deter us – NO WAY. As I was doing the pre-bridals I kept looking out the window thinking “ohhh this doesn’t look good” and yep it rained pretty hard for most of the afternoon. Jacqui was still in high spirits and wasn’t going to let a bit of rain spoil her special day! She looked absolutely beautiful as did the entire bridal party.
The wedding and reception was held at Victoria Park Golf Course which is such a lovely venue – no golf course shots though unfortunately so we just made use of the surrounding buildings and some creative lighting!
I also would like to say thanks to Kylie for coming along and holding an umbrella over my head for half of our formal shoot and also Grant for lending me the best piece of equipment I have used this year!
{Jacqui and Michael – thank you for choosing me as your photographer. It has been lovely getting to know you and all your family and I hope you love all your photos}
Till next time

Last Wednesday I visited Island Hideaway over at South Stradbroke Island for the engagement shoot for Donna and Neil who are getting married there in March! The weather looked pretty scary and there were a few drops while we were whisked away on the speed boat (now that was fun!) – but in the end we ended having around 30 mins before we lost light and it started raining again! Neil and Donna are such a lovely couple and I could really feel the love between them. When they were left alone for 5 minutes the world could of come to an end and they probably wouldn’t have realised.
This should be one fun wedding with guests traveling from many different parts of the world including the UK and South Australia.
Here are a few images from our very quick session.
{Donna and Neil – so so lovely to meet you last week and I know we are going to have a ball on your wedding day! Just remember – enjoy every second of it – hope you love these photos and I will be in contact soon}

Yesterday I was so lucky to meet up with this incredibly gorgeous family! The day wasn’t looking so good in the morning due to the recent bad weather and we were even going to cancel our session – but I am SO glad that we didn’t because we had the most perfect light and came back with some fantastic images. Little Master J was just so perfectly behaved.
{Thank you for asking me to capture this special time in your life – I really am honored. I hope you love your sneak peak and I will have your gallery up in a few days}.
Till next time

Yesterday I had one of the most fun sessions I think I have had to date! I have become friends with Allison over the past few months as her daugther has been in a few photoshoots for Princess Ratbag, Momie et Enfant and Peekaboo Magazine. This was a very long awaited shoot as Allison has been asking me for ages to do a shoot for her. She wanted a beach theme and a beach theme is what she got – along with a bit of park thrown in. We decide to utitlise the park as the light at 4:30pm was still pretty intense and the park had some lovely lighting. And anyone that knows me knows that I shy away from backlighting and flares – however in this case I think it worked and my New Year resolution this year is to play a little more with backlighting to add some different elements into my photography!
We ended up at the beach at around 5:30pm and even at that time the light was pretty crazy – lucky I had my reflector assistant and we made the situation “work” !
{Guys I hope you love your sneak peak and your video – will be in touch soon xx}
Till next time

As promised here is part 2 of Dave and Elise’s Wedding Day! I could of kept editing these photos all night – such a beautiful couple! If you are wondering what the dog is doing in the last photo – it was made by Elise’s Nan as their “son” couldn’t be there!
If you are interstate and currently choosing your wedding photographer – I am willing to travel interstate and have a number of interstate weddings this year that I am very much looking forward too.
Till next time – enjoy!

Two weeks ago Kylie and myself were lucky to experience our first interstate wedding – the wedding of David and Elise. I hadn’t met David and Elise before we arrived in Newcastle but as soon as we did meet (in a very trendy little cafe in Newcastle) I knew that I was going to love them. We headed down to the venue for an inspection and while we were there David said to us “you are our friends now”……..from that moment on we were friends! I have to say that I loved every single second of this wedding and everyone there was so accommodating and would go out of their way to help us.
I have lots of images to share from this wedding and really just wanted to get something up today so here are the getting ready photos. I wish I could show you all the photos because we got some beautiful detail shots (we had a bit of time to kill lol). The bridesmaids were so fun (as you will see in the photos) and although the morning was emotional at times for Elise in the end everything worked out just beautifully. And you have to admit she looked absolutely stunning!
So here you go – Part 1.
{Dave and Elise – thank you SO MUCH for having us photograph your wedding and trusting us especially since we were booked from so far away. I am so honored to have met you both and know that we will be friends for life. Hope you love this sneak peak}.

When owner of Retro Bird asked me to shoot her products for her online Etsy store etc I was terribly excited. Retro Bird sells handmade and retro inspired clothing and gifts which can be found here http://www.etsy.com/shop/retrobirddesigns All her products are just divine but I have to say I fell in love with the little dolls as soon as I saw them!
Retro Bird is also at the Boutique Markets at Portside in Brisbane on the 2nd Sunday of every month.

Today I did my first maternity shoot in a very long time – and it went so perfectly. I couldn’t have hoped for anything better!
Angela and Luke are due to have their little bub (who you can guess his name from the photos) in 5 weeks and are just so excited and full of love for him (and for each other of course). I didn’t have to travel far as they are pretty much neighbours. The day started off very overcast so I thought it would be good to go down to the lake to get some “lifestyle” shots but as soon as we got there the sun decided to pop out to say hi! We didn’t stay long there and pretty much did the rest of the shoot in their lovely home – I am sure I could of spent all day there coming up with different ideas for every piece of furniture they have!
{Thanks guys for today – it was one of the best maternity shoots I have done to date and I can’t wait to meet your little man. Also so excited to be shooting your wedding next year – it is going to be amazing}.
Till next time
