When owner of Retro Bird asked me to shoot her products for her online Etsy store etc I was terribly excited. Retro Bird sells handmade and retro inspired clothing and gifts which can be found here http://www.etsy.com/shop/retrobirddesigns All her products are just divine but I have to say I fell in love with the little dolls as soon as I saw them!
Retro Bird is also at the Boutique Markets at Portside in Brisbane on the 2nd Sunday of every month.

Today I did my first maternity shoot in a very long time – and it went so perfectly. I couldn’t have hoped for anything better!
Angela and Luke are due to have their little bub (who you can guess his name from the photos) in 5 weeks and are just so excited and full of love for him (and for each other of course). I didn’t have to travel far as they are pretty much neighbours. The day started off very overcast so I thought it would be good to go down to the lake to get some “lifestyle” shots but as soon as we got there the sun decided to pop out to say hi! We didn’t stay long there and pretty much did the rest of the shoot in their lovely home – I am sure I could of spent all day there coming up with different ideas for every piece of furniture they have!
{Thanks guys for today – it was one of the best maternity shoots I have done to date and I can’t wait to meet your little man. Also so excited to be shooting your wedding next year – it is going to be amazing}.

I am so so lucky to have been given the opportunity to do some commercial work for some amazing Brisbane companies and the latest little “job” that I have done is some photography for La Toriana.
La Toriana is the “baby” of the beautiful Elizabeth and the website sells specialised baby gifts, baby wear and kids clothes, toys and accessories. The blog / website showcases and supports Australian and New Zealand businesses, designers and mums in business with their secure online shopping.
Be sure to go and visit the blog http://www.latoriana.com.au/blog/ and the website http://latoriana.com.au/
Here are some images taken for La Toriana in the last month – all of which are of course available on the website.
In these images Lily wears top and pants by Tippie Toes.

Clothes by Tippie Toes and both of the purses are from Tabitha Emma.

Clothes by a la natural – just love this pic!

Kiara (my daughter) is wearing dress by Tea Princess and hair clip by Pretty Chic Princess.

Outfit by finnigan finn.

A few months ago I was asked by fellow photographer and now friend Kylie to photograph her beautiful family. A lot of planning went into this shoot (many shopping trips on Kylie’s behalf) and I was terribly nervous about this shoot. It is so much harder shooting another photographer and my poor little heart was racing so fast before we met in Brisbane! Kylie made me feel really comfortable and about 5 minutes into the shoot it was just like any other shoot.
I got so many lovely images from Kylie’s family shoot – I could just keep editing them all day. The family is just so close and full of love and it was definately a very relaxed and casual shoot – Kylie didn’t want anything too posed - just love the feel of these images!
I have also been contacted by a Sydney photographer about doing her family photos when she comes for a holiday later in the year. I can’t say who it is but OMG I nearly fell off my chair when she asked me – so stay tuned for those later in the year – wonder if I will be able to breathe during that shoot!
{Kylie I hope you like my editing and can’t wait to see your take on them – thank you again for entrusting me with taking these very special images of your family xx}

PS – I think I have said shoot way too many times in this blog post and I have put up way too many photos – sorry!
A few months back I was asked to photograph a new product by Vespa and the Ladybird. The product is a post pregnancy body wrap which, among other things, helps to flatten and firm the tummy and provide support and lower back support. Obviously this isn’t the easiest product to photograph but we went for some studio shots of the product both lay flat and also on a model and also a series of lifestyle shots.
I was able to get a beautiful model and her scrumptious new bub for the lifestyle shots and she was just such a natural (oh and a beautiful model for the studio shots – thanks Anna – she is like the Dentist – you will never see her face). We did the shoot at Candice from momie et enfant’s house and of course I couldn’t help but take some shots of her beautiful little girl!
If you would or any friends / family would like to purchase this exciting new product just visit the website here
Below are some of my fav images from the shoot – obviously not all of these are on the website either.

Or Root the Suit as James likes to put it! A few weekends ago I was so lucky enough to take a trip up to Maleny to capture some beautiful images for James and Emma. I have never done a shoot up there so was very excited as you can imagine – the scenery is just amazing and James and Emma are just the nicest people.
James and Emma were married in Fiji and not entirely happy with their images captured from their special day, so when I mentioned TTD at their family shoot they jumped at the chance to get back into their wedding gear and frock it up again for the camera!
The afternoon went so perfectly – I just wish we had more time to get some more images as we had so many ideas – but the sun had other ideas. I am so totally in love with these photos and I have to admit i am even a tad envious of them. So much so that it has made me want to really get a shoot done with my hubby in June! Can’t wait (now just need to lose 10 kilos).
I have put up some of my fav images but have also done up a slideshow showing many more (see below). Put your speakers on and have a listen – I love the song – such a feel good song!
Lots of blogging coming up too – just came back from Newcastle where I shot the wedding of Elise and Dave with Kylie Maree! It was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC and I have some of my best images to show you in the next week or so.

I feel like I have been friend’s with this family for years even though I have never met them. My husband has been friends with Paul for around 3 years and I had heard so much about him and the family but just never had the opportunity to meet them. I am so glad we finally made the effort to meet as we really got on so well. The shoot was going to be a newborn shoot however bubs had other ideas but we still managed to get some lovely photos and most importantly some lovely family shots!
{Thanks guys for having me at your home. It was so great to meet you after all this time. Look forward to seeing you next time on a more casual basis – a wine and dinner sounds PERFECT}.
Till next time – enjoy

Last Sunday I met with Jacqui and Michael for their engagement shoot at Victoria Park Golf Course where their wedding will be taking place in late February. I had met Jacqui and Michael at Jacqui’s brother’s wedding http://naomivphotographyblog.com.au/?p=2505 and knew we would get on really well!
As you can imagine, the afternoon sun on the golf course was very intense so we decided to make use of the texture and shade at the university across the road. I am so glad we did because there were so many areas for us to utilise. Jacqui and Michael were a little nervous at the beginning of our shoot but by the end we were best friends. This is the beauty of an engagement shoot – we get to know each other really well before your big day so on the wedding day I know what to expect and vice versa.
{Jacqui and Michael – I am really looking forward to your wedding day and honored to be a part of it. Hope you love your photos and see you in Feb x}

Last Friday, on my birthday, I was lucky enough to finally meet a very special lady that I had formed an email friendship with. It was Anneliese, the owner of Tutu’s & Muddy Shoes. Anneliese contacted me last year to see if I would do her family shoot with the view to also doing her photography for her new brand Tutu’s & Muddy Shoes. It was love at first sight – ok not really – but we did get along like a house on fire.
We had been planning this shoot down to the last detail and I think it turned out perfectly. It started off a little crazy – think scary park light, mozzies eating my head and one year old running away from me! But at the end of the day, apart from having great light, I wouldn’t of had it any other way. This shoot was full of colour, love, tutu’s and muddy shoes. I am so proud to be involved with such a beautiful brand but most importantly I have made a great friend!
Although Tutu’s and Muddy Shoes is a relatively new brand, it is just so delicious. We will be doing the commercial shoot in a few months but in the meantime check out some of her beautiful hand made items…..so exciting. http://www.madeit.com.au/storecatalog.asp?userid=2246 and be sure to join her facebook fan page here http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tutus-and-Muddy-Shoes/179380410549?ref=ts#/pages/Tutus-and-Muddy-Shoes/179380410549?v=wall&ref=ts
I hope you love these and if you would like a family shoot please be sure to email at info@naomivphotography.com.au – I would love to meet you!

Last week I had the honor of meeting this lovely family and what a lovely time we had together. And I couldn’t think of a better location to take photos at – just look at this lovely lush grass. And this hasn’t been enhanced (much).
{Hope you love your photos guys – will be in touch soon}.
Take care
